AWARDS AND SELECTION PROCESS

The Xamped Film Festival accepts films depicting any aspect of life with a disability. Entries are judged and may win awards and cash in the following categories:

– Best Film + $1000
– Best Director + $500
– People’s Choice Award + $500

Finalists will be notified in June. Winners will be notified in July. All results will be posted on our website.

All entries are welcome. Each film will be judged by an independent panel of judges. Between one and a half and two hours of film will be selected for the festival. This means that short films will have greater chance of being selected. If your film is 45 minutes long it may have to compete against four shorter films for a spot in the festival. This is not to say that such a film will not be selected, just that the odds will be tough for a longer piece.
The purpose of the Xamped Film Festival is to present films that uplift and inspire their viewers. In general this is an extreme sports film festival focusing on the achievements of athletes who have overcome physical challenges to do amazing things. Judges will be looking for films which demonstrate this well. We do however welcome films of all types for consideration.
Films selected will be included in the Xamped Film Fest '08 DVD which will be distributed worldwide to hospitals, prosthetists, social workers, physical therapists, schools, and more.
Filmmakers retain the the rights to their film but must also grant Xamped Films with particular rights to distribute their film (if selected) as part of the Xamped Film Fest '08 DVD. Proceeds from this DVD support the O&P eXtremity Games and eXtremity Events Network, a Non-Profit Organization.
